UWINCO

Funds

UWINCO primarily manages two pools of funds, the Consolidated Endowment Fund (CEF) and the Invested Funds (IF).

Consolidated Endowment Fund (CEF)

The CEF is the investment pool of the University’s endowed gifts. Endowments are extremely valuable in enhancing the quality of the University’s teaching, research and public service programs by providing permanent support. The vast majority of the University’s gifts are designated for specific purposes by donors. The CEF operates similar to a mutual fund in that each individual endowment buys units in the fund.

Visit the Treasury Office website for more information on the CEF.

Invested Funds (IF)

The IF is an investment pool consisting of the University’s operating funds. The overall financial objective of the IF is to enable the University to meet its financial obligations as they come due. A secondary objective is to achieve investment returns above those of money market instruments. A portion of the IF is invested in the CEF to increase returns and provide diversification.
