Dr. Priscilla Lui received the Samuel M. Turner Early Career Award for Distinguished Contributions to Diversity in Clinical Psychology. This award is given to one early career clinical psychologist who receives a Ph.D. degree within the last 7 years and who has made exemplary contributions to diversity within the field. Such contributions can include research, service, practice, training, or any combination thereof. During her brief acceptance speech, Dr. Lui talked about the importance of conducting inclusive and culturally responsive clinical psychology research in order for our field to develop a comprehensive understanding of human psychology.
Additionally, Dr. Lui’s first-authored poster presentation entitled, “Facet-level factorial invariance of the NEO Personality Inventories across Euro and Asian Americans,” was recognized as the best poster from Society of Clinical Psychology (American Psychological Association Division 12) by a professional member.
