Welcome

We are a small team of researchers based at the University of Washington – Applied Physics Laboratory (APL). Our work is centered on gaining insights into the dynamics of phytoplankton communities in marine environments, with a focus on the use of optical proxies and imaging-in-flow cytometry data. We use ship-based measurements, laboratory analyses, and satellite remote-sensing data in our work, and we regularly employ the use of data science tools including machine learning, cloud computing, and open-source data processing workflows.
