School of Medicine Climate

School of Medicine Climate

The research and training environment for graduate students and postdoctoral scholars in the School of Medicine is supported by the Office of Research and Graduate Education (RGE). The RGE leadership and staff believe that the health of our community is foundational to our mission. Our programming aims to nurture a welcoming culture in which everyone can learn and thrive.

UW Medicine Allies

The Allies program serves graduate students and postdoctoral scholars across the School of Medicine. Allies are faculty and staff who provide trainees with support during conflict with mentors and lab mates, assistance in navigating institutional barriers to success, and connection with institutional and community services.

Peace Circles

Peace Circles are a process and tool that can facilitate trust and build authentic relationships that bridge divides created by real and perceived differences.

Climate Survey

The Climate Survey provides graduate students and postdoctoral fellows with the opportunity to inform School of Medicine leadership about their experiences with mentorship, resources, discrimination, and harassment while at the School of Medicine.
