2024 Faculty Assembly Winter Meeting Slides & Notes
The Faculty Assembly (FA) Winter Meeting 2024 took place on Jan. 19. I’d like to thank the colleagues who made the time to participate in faculty governance discussion and connect with colleagues across units. We had 63 meeting participants on a cold winter afternoon! We learned a lot from each other.
A few highlights of the meeting slides in addition to the updates from the Chancellor and EVCAA:
- Elected Faculty Council (EFC) Chair Panel: Thanks to the seven faculty council chairs and/or representatives who reported their heavy-lifting faculty governance work. This is our first time to host the EFC Chair panel at the FA meeting. Our goal is to help the campus to build mutual understanding across units for a collective community. We intend to develop the EFC Chair Report session as a new FA meeting protocol that will be conducted annually.
- FA Support to the 2nd Academic Plan Cycle: Thanks to the FA Vice Chair Anne Taufen and APCC Chair Julie Masura for their leadership on this project. Preliminary results of the academic plan questionnaire and PNOIs were reported.
- Workload Discussion Notes: Thanks to FAC Chair Sharon Laing for leading the workload assessment project into the second year! And we’re grateful for the faculty who shared their thoughts with us.
