Thank you for your interest in our research! LEAP currently has two studies that are actively enrolling participants. If you would like to participate, please fill out the form below and select your study of interest. We may contact you with further details.

Sibling Language Development Study:

We are currently recruiting infants under six months to co-enroll with a biological older sibling who is at least three years old in the Sibling Language Development Study. The goal of the study is to learn more about the neural mechanisms of typical and atypical language development in infancy. Lab visit times are flexible, and caregivers will be provided with a report of their older child’s language skills at no cost as well as compensated for their time at each appointment.

Infant-Caregiver Interaction Study:

We are currently recruiting first-born infants from five to six months of age in the Infant Caregiver Interaction study. The goal of the study is to learn how parents interact with their infant children and potentially inform early language learning strategies. This study involves one in-person lab visit, and participants will be compensated for their time.

If you’d also like to join the UW Communication Studies Participant Pool, sign up either for yourself as well as your children through this link: University of Washington Communication Studies Participant Pool. Once your information is in the pool, you may be contacted by different research labs at the University of Washington for various research studies. You can choose to participate in ones that you are interested in. Our research would not be possible without the support of our local families!
