The Baneyx lab conducts fundamental and applied research at the confluence of protein engineering, nanotechnology, molecular engineering and materials science. We design, characterize and exploit solid-binding proteins to manipulate inorganic morphogenesis and to control the assembly and reconfiguration of hierarchical, hybrid and living matter. We are a lead lab in the U.S. Department of Energy Center for the Science of Synthesis Across Scales (CSSAS) Energy Frontier Research Center.
