The Black Adult Resilience Study Launches with Encouraging New Data

The Black Adult Resilience Study is officially underway! After months of preparation, our research teams from the University of Washington and Southern Methodist University began collecting data identifying the relations between daily and racial stressors and substance use in Black young adults. BARS will work to understand the strengths of the Black community to gain valuable insights into resilience and mental health promotion.

With the study now in full swing, participants from our Seattle and Dallas sites are contributing valuable input leading to potential discoveries that will alleviate the health risks of racism.

This marks a significant milestone that will influence individuals, policies, and even generations.
