Research

We are cell biologists and microbiologists. We use baker’s yeast as a model system to understand how subcellular organelles are formed and shaped, and we study the interactions of bacterial pathogens with the cells of human mucosal tissues. Methods include genetics, quantitative light microscopy, protein biochemical and biophysical analyses, and reconstitution of complex processes using chemically defined reaction systems.
