Current trainees

Jamie Villanueva, DAOM, EAMP
T90 2022-2025

As a first-year postdoctoral fellow and trainee, Jamie is interested in developing her clinical research skills and exploring how acupuncture affects the aging process. Specific goals include determining the impact of acupuncture treatment on the quality of life of senior citizens, the use of acupuncture to mitigate the burden of chronic disease in the United States, and whether acupuncture treatment influences biomarkers associated with epigenetic aging.
Tasha Parman, PT, DPT

He is researching ways to mitigate the effects of aging on the brain through holistic and complementary approaches, with a focus on the prevention of disease through early intervention, whole-person health, and tapping into mechanisms of salutogenesis. He is currently studying the effects of the botanical supplement Centella asiatica (gotu kola) on brain health and vasculature.
Lita Buttolph, PhD
R90 2021-2024

Lita is interested in understanding how traditional East Asian medicine therapies, such as qigong, tai chi, acupuncture, and gentle bodywork influence neuropsychology. Her current research involves understanding the feasibility and safety of qigong for people with multiple sclerosis.

Alexandra Vita, PhD
R90 2021-2024
