Current Honors Students

Siyu (Louisa) Chen

Louisa is an undergraduate student at the University of Washington, majoring in Psychology and minoring in Informatics, Data Science, and Global Health. She has a particular interest in cognitive psychology and the intersection of psychology and technology. She is working on investigating the role of breaks in the frequency of mind wandering during sustained attention tasks in CCDL. Outside of research, she also enjoys Chinese calligraphy, playing the piano, photography, and cooking.

Siqi Mao

Siqi is an undergraduate student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Informatics. She’s really captivated by the way our brains function, especially when it comes to mental disorders, and she’s looking to merge that with computer. Currently, she’s working on a research project at CCDL that explores the effects of mindfulness meditation on memory.


Undergraduate Alumni

Aleksandra Umanskaya, Honors Student

Aleksandra is a senior undergraduate student at the University of Washington, majoring in Psychology and Economics. Aleksandra moved here from Russia when she was 7 years old and maintains the cultural attachments by being involved in the Russian Club at UW. Aleksandra is also a part of the Economics Undergraduate Board and she researches economic decision making here in our lab. In her spare time, Aleksandra finds delicious cafes around the area and takes spontaneous road trips.

Savannah Cassis, Honors Student

Savannah is an undergraduate honors student at the University of Washington pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology. She is particularly interested in how brain function is involved with behavior, and plans to pursue graduate school with a focus in research. She also enjoys creative writing, playing tennis, and playing with her Golden Retriever, Dexter, in her spare time.

Micah Ketola, Honors Student

Micah Ketola is an undergraduate at the University of Washington pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Psychology with a minor in Applied Math. He is fascinated in the intersection of behavior, the brain, and computers. In the future, Micah plans to apply to graduate school and further explore how brain measures can help predict behavior. Outside of research, Micah enjoys drumming, cooking, and playing sports.

Jiafei Li, Honors Student

Jiafei is an undergraduate student majoring in Psychology and minoring in Informatics at the University of Washington, with an interest in the neurological and cognitive basis of higher-level cognition and the combination of psychology and technology. She is working on individual differences in language aptitude and foreign music comprehension in CCDL.

Akira Sakoda, Honors Student

Akira joined CCDL as a Psychology Honors Student and began working with Dr. Stocco as a mentor. He is currently carrying out a project using tDCS to manipulate fluid intelligence. The future may find Akira as a therapist or researcher, but he likes to boulder, write, and play RPGs. He has interest in psychedelics as a future avenue for research and medicine.
