Geotechnical Engineering Intern Position

Read on to learn about a summer/fall internship with Seattle DCI. They are hoping they can find an undergraduate with real interest in geotechnical engineering, as this will be a fun project to go through all the historic landslide files!

Position Description: The Seattle Department of Construction and Inspections is seeking a junior or senior student to clean up the delineation of known slides in the existing Geographic Information System.  The intern will also (1) assist with the digitization of historical landslide files and (2) help complete the current ongoing project of steep slope delineation, if that project has not been completed by this summer.

  • Salary: $15.73 Hourly
  • Location: Seattle Municipal Tower, 700 5th Ave, Seattle, WA

  • Start/End Dates: Late June/early July through December, 2016: 6 month position.
  • Schedule: 40 hours/week in summer, 10 hours/week when school is in session. Work will be scheduled between 8:00 AM through 5:00 PM

Qualifications: Must be enrolled in an accredited educational program, preferably in civil engineering. Undergraduate interns must maintain a satisfactory GPA of 2.0 or higher for the duration of the internship. Preferred: Junior level course in geotechnical engineering.
