WTS-Puget Sound Chapter 2018/2019 Mentoring Program

WTS-Puget Sound Chapter 2018/2019 Mentoring Program

If you’re interested in being a mentor or protégé, please sign-up!

WHAT: WTS (Women’s Transportation Seminar) is committed to developing excellence in the transportation industry.  To provide support for those who work, or are interested in working, in the transportation industry, WTS’s Puget Sound Chapter is offering a free 9 month mentoring program (open to both men and women).

Protégés: If you are looking to take your career to the next level, this is the opportunity for you.

Mentors: No matter what your interests and experiences are, you have knowledge and experience to share from being a working professional.

We are seeking:

  • Senior professionals to mentor junior professionals
  • Junior professionals to mentor entry level professionals and college students.

WHEN:  This year’s program runs from November 2018 to June 2019.

HOW: Submit an online application using the links below by the specified deadline including details about your education and career, your interests and aspirations, and your goals for the mentoring program.

You will be matched up with a mentor/protégé by the WTS Mentoring Committee and notified via email of your paring and invited to the Kick-Off Event (see Planned Events below).

Planned Events:

Kick-Off Event:  Meet and greet and program discussion; scheduled for Thursday November 7th

Mid-Year Event:  Professional development topic “Public Speaking”; planned for January 2019

Closing Event:  Celebratory Happy Hour and networking event planned for June 2019

APPLY by clicking on the following links for Protégés or Mentors to access the online applications.  The Application deadline is Monday Oct 15th.  Late submittals will be put on a “waiting list” and are not guaranteed to be paired during the current program year so don’t delay in completing and submitting your application!

Expectations:  Please only apply if you are willing to commit to the 9-month program out of respect for everyone’s time.  Mentors and protégés will be responsible for meeting at least once a month on their own during the program – this can be face to face or on the phone as agreed upon by each pair.  We also ask that you make a special effort to attend each of the three planned events.
