Undergrad research assistant position

Undergraduate research assistant position available in Environmental Engineering.  Students in microbiology, biochemistry, chemical engineering, and related disciplines are welcome to apply.  The assistant will work closely with senior personnel on laboratory and field studies designed to resolve biotic and abiotic controls of greenhouse gas emissions.  Using model microorganisms and synthetic communities, the individual will be trained in applications of GC, HPLC, and microsensors to identify environmental variables controlling greenhouse gas production.  The candidate must be comfortable working with compressed gasses, needle/septum-based materials handling, data entry and record keeping, have a keen eye for detail, and recognize the importance of experimental replication.   Candidates should contact Kris Hunt at hunt0362@uw.edu.”
