NEW 5 Credit VLPA Course Available – “Creativity as Research”

Attention UW Students,

A new VLPA course is now available for students to register. See attached flyer for more information. If you are interested and have any questions, please feel free to email Jennifer Salk (jsalk@uw.edu)

Jennifer –

I co-teach a course entitled “Creativity as Research” (5CR VLPA) with priority given to first and second year students, but also open to juniors and seniors. We have had several of your students in the first two pilot Mellon Foundation Funded years of the course. Now, in our third year, and funded by the Arts Divisional Reserves we are hoping to increase our enrollment numbers from 40 to 60. The course is mostly asynchronous except for four in-person meetings that take place on four Wednesdays, from 6-9 during the quarter. The course is designed for people with no arts experience and explores the importance of creative thinking in any field. I teach this collaborative course with Associate Professor Afroditi Psarra from Digital Art and Experimental Media, Associate Professor Jeffrey Frace from the School of Drama, Trisha Davis, Chair of Biochemistry, and Vikram Prakash Associate Dean in the School of Architecture. We would be grateful if you would put the word out about this class. If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact me via email.
