Job Opportunity at CoMotion

Hi Engineering Colleagues,

I know a few of you from my past work at CSE and in the Dean’s Office, but several of you are new to me. I work at CoMotion, the UW’s tech transfer office. As you might be aware, we have 3 incubators on campus, 2 in Fluke Hall and 1 in Condon Hall. We have a student worker position currently open.

My colleague, Ashlee Esteban <aesteban@uw.edu>, is hiring. She or I <krleikin@uw.edu> are happy to answer any questions. If you have students that are interested in startups, this would be a wonderful, kind, and friendly home for them to work. We genuinely have fun every day. We are excited to have a student join us soon.

LEED Training Special – Seattle Fall Webinars

Dear Students,

I hope you have had a great start to the school year! Back by popular demand, I will be continuing to host LEED webinars to help prepare your students for the sustainable demands of their future careers.

Make your resume stand out with the premier sustainability designation called the LEED Green Associate! LEED is simply a sustainability scorecard for green buildings. As buildings can become LEED Certified, people can become LEED accredited! The best way to break into the sustainability space is to attain the LEED Green Associate. It also shows employers and clients you have certified knowledge in the field. Since the LEED GA exam doesn’t have a stellar pass rate, the value of the extra letters behind your name will carry even more weight.

Our engaging webinars have helped over 10K students and professionals learn the material cold AND clear the exam with a very high passing rate. The LEED Professional Designation has helped past participants attain internships and jobs and now is a great time to add this credential. Student Wellness/Recovery Resources

Hi everybody,

The university worked hard to reach out to students who were injured and witnesses to the shooting during the first weekend of October. There was also a hit-and-run that took place.  We know that such events can impact the community even if people were not at the scene.  In that spirit, we want to share a few resources for you to share with students and your departments:

  • Instagram post: https://www.instagram.com/p/CjRJec0Pg94/?hl=en [instagram.com]
  • Website link: http://mentalhealth.uw.edu
  • Drop-in for Let’s Talk for a brief one-time consultation Tuesday or Thursday from 2 – 4 p.m (link in bio).
  • Call the Counseling Center at 206-543-1240 or stop by if you are interested in counseling.
  • MySSP – If you are having a hard time or need crisis support, MySSP is available 24/7 to chat. You can reach them at 1.866.775.0608.

Part of how we get through this is by being in community with each other.  Thank you for being part of the UW community supporting students and each other.
