Environmental Engineering Position – Washington State Department of Ecology

Hello,

The Washington State Department of Ecology is currently looking to hire a new environmental engineer. The Washington State Department of Ecology serves a similar function to the EPA but at the state level. Alumni holding a BS with one year of experience or new grads with a master’s degree meet the minimum eligibility requirements. A similar position was recently posted; this position is in addition to that posting.

Some info on the position and our group at the Department of Ecology: Our group specifically regulates some of the largest industrial facilities (oil refineries, aluminum smelters, pulp and paper mills) in the State for environmental compliance. We write permits, perform compliance inspections, review engineering reports, and pursue enforcement actions for non-compliance. We regulate these facilities to ensure compliance with the Clean Air Act, Clean Water Act, Resource Conservation and Recovery Act (hazardous waste), and the Model Toxics Control Act (cleanup).
