SWANA Evergreen Chapter Scholarship

Hello CEE Students,

I’m writing to share a scholarship opportunity for students interested in environmental or solid waste/materials management careers. The local chapter of the Solid Waste Association of North America (SWANA) is offering students with these interests scholarships of up to $2,500. The deadline is May 2. To be eligible, students must be enrolled in college or grad school for next fall, be children or grandchildren of SWANA members, or be SWANA student members. The good news is that becoming a student member is free and easy. The scholarship application is two pages plus a cover letter and does not require an essay. Applicants do not need to be pursuing studies in solid waste or materials management (SWANA’s focus), but a focus on environmental work will make students more competitive. Students with demonstrated interest in these fields will also be eligible for the $2,500 scholarship, instead of just the $1,500 general scholarship. If you have any questions, please contact me or or scholarship committee chair Tyson Wright.
