Dr. Richelle Clifton completed her PhD in clinical psychology at Indiana University—Purdue University, Indianapolis. Through her research, she seeks to better understand and describe sociocultural risk and protective factors (e.g., racial identity, racial discrimination, racial/ethnic socialization) and their impact on psychological and behavioral health outcomes (e.g., depression, anxiety, substance use) among youth of color in order to adapt and tailor health interventions.

Dr. Anthony Osuna is a clinical psychologist who specializes in supporting individuals with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and developmental disabilities. He received his PhD from UC Santa Barbara and completed his residency training at the University of Washington and Seattle Children’s Hospital. Dr. Osuna’s research focuses on developing social media and internet safety intervention programs to protect people with developmental disabilities from online challenges.

Dr. Shameka Rodgers Phillips is a nurse scientist and family nurse practitioner. She completed her PhD in Nursing at the University of Alabama at Birmingham. Her research interests are pediatric sleep health equity for youth from disadvantaged backgrounds, and she is exploring if the school environment has protective or negative effects on sleep and mental health. Her long-term goal is to use community-engaged approaches to develop school and community-based interventions to improve sleep health for youth from disadvantaged backgrounds and marginalized communities.

2nd Year Child Health Equity Research Program Fellow

Kathryn O’Neill completed her doctorate in Quantitative Biology at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory in New York.  She seeks to investigate how maternal stress affects placental biology and how systemic and cultural inequities interact and contribute to this landscape.
