PsycTESTS®, produced by the American Psychological Association (APA), serves as a repository for a growing selection of psychological tests and measures, including thousands of actual test instruments and test items that are available for immediate download and use in research and teaching.
Trial ends: July 18, 2014
Three of my Community Psychology faculty said that they would not expect to use this resource in their teaching, but another said that she would find it very useful in her classes. Thanks for getting this trial!
I just heard from another instructor that he would find it very useful for two of his classes.
I have had students come to the reference desk multiple times for help searching for tests.
At least 2 classes here have assignments that explicitly require students to use and compare tests.
Three librarians at UW Bothell reviewed this together. We liked the comprehensiveness of HAPI, but found the search results to be less relevant than in the PsycTESTS database.
We found more relevant results in the PsycTEST database, and think the students would like the immediate access to the fulltext of the instruments. We wondered about the students experiences of having access to the instrument, without the context of how the instrument has been applied. PsycTESTS does include a little context in the description field of the detailed record.
