June 2020
During the 2020 Spring quarter, we worked on two projects using ASL (Augmented Space Library). The first allowed us to learn how to work with the underlying libraries by porting an assignment from CSS 451: 3D Computer Graphics to VR with multi-person collaborative functionality. Our second project focused on creating a 2-person collaborative VR escape room game using the knowledge and experience gained during the first phase. This escape room lets users collaborate with each other and solve puzzles to get out of the room. Through the project, we became familiar with MRTK, ASL and integrated 3D graphics into our VR application with specific interactive functions. This process allowed us to investigate the issues of multiplayer collaborative VR applications. Through those projects, we have not only increased technical skill on integrating VR collaborative applications, but also allowed us to experience application development processes as members of a research team and the management of team dynamics.
