HOLLY NGUYEN


Holly Nguyen, Co-Chair of D2C, is the Director of Preclinical Studies for the Genitourinary Cancer Research Laboratory within the University of Washington’s Department of Urology. Her research focuses on the development, maintenance, and testing of novel prostate cancer patient-derived xenografts using immunocompromised mouse models. She earned her BS in Zoology at Washington State University and has worked with and cared for small animals in a research setting since 2002.

Holly founded the 501(c)(3) registered nonprofit Washington Adoption Center for Retired Research Animals (WACRRA) which is dedicated to rehoming eligible retired research animals ensuring their continued care, fulfilled lives, and happy futures through advocacy, education, trust, and successful adoptions. Through WACRRA, she is advocating for a 4th R in research: Replace. Reduce. Refine. Rehome.

Outside of the lab, Holly enjoys adventures with her family, exploring the Pacific Northwest, mountaineering, and running.
Holly is a Certified Compassion Fatigue Professional.
