» What is Decisions During Drinking (D3)?
Decisions During Drinking (D3) is a research study conducted through the Center for the Study of Health and Risk Behaviors at the University of Washington in Seattle and aims to create health messages that help young adults have better, more positive drinking experiences.
» Do I get paid?
Eligible participants can earn up to $105 in Amazon.com or Tango e-gift cards.
For completing the 1st online survey, which takes 20-30 minutes to complete, participants will earn a $20 e-gift card. Approximately 20-30 days later, participants can earn a $35 e-gift card for completing the 2nd survey, which takes 20-30 minutes to complete. The 3rd survey will be approximately 30 days after the 2nd survey, and participants can earn a $50 e-gift card for completing it.
» What would I do as a participant?
There are a couple steps to participate in this study:
- The first step involves completing the 5–10 minute Screening Survey to see if this study is a good fit for you.
- If it seems like the study is a good fit for you, we will email you to set up a Zoom call to verify your identity. (Click here for more information on why we do this). After you are verified, we will send you a link for the 1st survey, which takes 20-30 minutes to complete.
- After completing the 1st survey, participants are randomly selected to one of two groups. One group will receive personalized drinking information over approximately 20-30 days. The other group will not receive this information.
- Approximately 20-30 days after the 1st survey, participants will be invited to a 2nd survey, which takes 20-30 minutes to complete.
- Lastly, about 30 days after the 2nd survey, all participants will be invited to a 3rd survey, which takes 20-30 minutes to complete.
