Qualified for Nationals, Best in the Northwest

Hey Husky Water Polo Fans,

Last weekend, Husky Water Polo travelled to Western Washington University to play for a chance at Nationals hosted in Newberg, Oregon this year. With a heartbreaking, 2-point loss on Saturday to Boise State University, the Huskies were not hopeful that they would qualify for the National tournament. However, in a stunning twist, Western Washington University beat Boise State by 1-point. Since the Huskies beat WWU by a 6 point differential, the point differential for each team ranked the Huskies as first in the bracket, giving the Huskies a chance at playing in the 1st place qualifying game. Riding that momentum, the Huskies played their A-game against Oregon State University to win by 1 point and place first in the Northwest Division, for the first time in 6 years. The Huskies are going to Nationals next week (November 11th – November 13th) to see how they compare to the rest of the country. Wish us luck!

We also want to extend a special thank you to all the fans have given us the support to make this possible, with a special thank you to Brian Stemp (team doctor) and Doc Zimmer (team statistician)!
