Proud winner of the 2021 Water Council’s Tech Challenge!

The Water Council has named Weyerhaeuser Assistant Professor, Anthony Dichiara, as one of three winners for its fall 2021 Tech Challenge, which recognizes industry leaders who are solving real challenges in the water sector.

SEFS Assistant Professor Anthony Dichiara was selected as the winner of the Internet of Things-enabled water quality sensing topic. He was chosen for his work on a cellulosic paper project, “which with its bio-renewable and hygroscopic nature provides an excellent platform for building sustainable and affordable water sensors with superior performance,” The Water Council’s announcement read.

The Water Council is a nonprofit organization based in the U.S. that is dedicated to solving critical global water challenges by driving freshwater innovation and advancing water stewardship. The organization’s annual Tech Challenge connects water innovators with leading water technology companies, facilitating potential partnerships and helping new ideas and technologies gain exposure in the industry.
