What does it mean to study the humanities? What can you do with an arts/humanities degree? Every year, there are articles lamenting the decline of the humanities and the dire prospects that arts and humanities majors face. The impacts of COVID-19 on educational institutions and the workplace have reignited the same old question: Who needs the humanities?
Digital Humanities Day 2021 will explore the value of the humanities in the current moment. Through panel discussions with UW students and alumni from the arts, humanities, and social sciences, we hope students will leave inspired to explore different possibilities for their future, and get an idea of what working in the humanities looks like in a variety of fields.
