MSIS PROGRAM

On January 20th, 2018, the MSIS program hosted its annual Professional Mock Interview event. The mock interviewers, who joined us from various companies such as Boeing, Expedia and Alaska Airlines, were able to provide our students with real-life, one-on-one interview experiences, as well as constructive feedback as they prepare to enter the workforce. With their areas of expertise ranging from product and IT management to software engineering, the interviewers were able to supply MSIS students with rich and diverse perspectives based on their experience. It was an exercise that our students greatly appreciated. A special thank you to all of the interviewers for their participation!

NEW STAFF
Please join me in welcoming LaShonna McBride as the new Advisor and Student Services Specialist for the MSIS program.  LaShonna joins us from Kois Center LLC, a continuing education facility for dentists, where she worked as a Registration and Alumni Relations Manager. She brings to Foster a background in professional student advising, alumni relations and course management.  A lifelong local, LaShonna shared that she enjoys exploring Seattle parks and hikes with her dog, cooking and crafting in her spare time. She is excited to have the opportunity to work with MSIS students through their educational journeys and learn more about UW.

MSCM PROGRAM

2018 is off to a strong start for the MSCM Program! Students had several great opportunities to engage with industry and expand on what they learned in the classroom. A few highlights include:

• Attending the Oracle Future Supply Chain Leaders Program
• Competing in the Target Consulting Challenge
• Sharpening their skills at our first annual MSCM Mock Interview Night
• Touring Kaas Tailored to learn about the application of Kaizen and lean principles in their operations (pictured above).

As winter quarter wrapped up, several students took to the skies for a spring break abroad on the ISOM Spring Immersion – a supply chain and information systems study tour. The group traveled to the Netherlands and Spain to visit companies and learn about global business and the opportunities and challenges faced by supply chain and IS professionals. A very big thank you goes out to PACCAR, DAF Trucks, Cisco, Mango, the US Consulate General in Barcelona, AgroMapping, and SEAT (pictured below) for hosting us!
