Nurses SHINE

The Ambulatory Care Simulation Toolkit provides a variety of resources for providing learners with practice experiences in common skills used in ambulatory care settings.  The simulation-based learning activities were created to introduce learners to skills and experiences that are common in ambulatory care but might not be encountered in other settings, especially tertiary care.  The simulations can be easily modified for use with pre-licenure students or nurse residency trainees and are mapped to the AAACN Professional Competencies (AAACN, 2017, pp. 85-86) and QSEN competencies.   These simulations are intended to build familiarity with ambulatory care for students who might be interested in working in these settings after graduation, and to facilitate transition of licensed nurses into skilled ambulatory care practice.

⇒ Student materials are available through the Ambulatory Care Simulation Student Toolkit.
