The first Data Services for Indigenous Scholarship and Sovereignty workshop was held on June 20-21, 2022 at the University of Washington with a focus on two areas and three objectives:

Indigenous Scholarship and CARE for Data
Challenges to CARE in Libraries & Repositories
Objectives:
- Determine scholar priorities for the DSISS framework
- Identify challenges for libraries and repositories in supporting scholar priorities and CARE principles
- Examine Local Contexts approach to labels and notices for potential application to Indigenous research data
Participants included the DSISS team and collaborators, additional scholars and librarians from the University of Washington and the University of British Columbia, and Indigenous community members from the Nisqually Language Program. See the full program packet below.
