Compendium was piloted in 2018 with the goal of creating a space within and beyond the program for department faculty, staff, and graduate instructors to communicate and visible the exemplary work done throughout the program. In 2019, the blog was re-designed to better serve the program community, and ultimately the launched in Fall Quarter of 2021 with the goal of spotlighting the extraordinary graduate instructors working in the program and showcasing innovative classroom practices, curriculum design, and ready-to-use resources.
