How to Join

There are 3 ways of joining Phi Beta Lambda:

  • Joining a participating chapter: Find a chapter near you.
  • Charter a new or inactive chapter: Follow the instructions on chartering with the Chapter Organizational Packet.
  • Join Virtual PBL: This type of membership is for virtual college students or if your campus does not have a PBL chapter.

UW MEMBERSHIP

To become a PBL member in the Seattle campus, you must meet the following criteria:

  • Maintain a minimum GPA of 2.0
  • Become enrolled as matriculated status
  • Pursue a major as an undergraduate or graduate student; ALL degree programs are welcome!
  • Alumni and Professionals: we encourage you to join our Professional Division

Professional Division Membership

We refer the PD as “professional members” of FBLA-PBL. Being a part of the PD is one of the best investments as your role will be to enhance the experience of student members in your affiliated local chapter. At the UW, we are looking for PD members that will mentor PBL members while co-advising the local officer team.

To become a Professional Division member, you must be an educator, a friend of FBLA-PBL, college/university alumni, or working professionals. Note: please designate “WA” as your state and the “University of Washington” as your affiliating chapter.

ANNUAL MEMBERSHIP COSTS

Every year, all student members and officers pay an annual membership fee of $50. Membership fees account for state and national membership, as well as local activities throughout the year. $1 of national membership dues is earmarked for annual IFL/NLC scholarships. Here is the breakdown of membership fees:

$30 (local) + $10 (state) + $10 (national) = $50 UW annual membership

Professional Division memberships vary. Please coordinate your PD membership fees here.

All conference attendees and competitors must pay their membership dues prior to registration. There will be a number of fundraising opportunities for members to participate while funding events and activities throughout the year.
