About

Why do some individuals develop serious mental illnesses in adolescence or adulthood while others do not? How do genetic, neurodevelopmental, and environmental factors shape these different outcomes? These are the questions we are passionate about exploring in the Genetic Risk and Neurodevelopment Lab (GRaND Lab) at the University of Washington, directed by Dr. Jennifer Forsyth, with the long-term goal of improving our ability to change illness trajectory or even prevent the onset of major psychiatric symptoms.
