Program Fees & Payments

Estimated Total Program Fee: $3,500

Included in the program fee:

  • Instruction
  • Housing
  • Program activities and program travel

Payment Due Date: October 11, 2024

Program fees will be posted to your MyUW student account and can be paid the same way that you pay tuition and other fees. Check your MyUW Account periodically for due dates.

Additional Expenses

Not included in the program fee:

  • UW Study Abroad Fee – $495 (billed to your MyUW account)
  • UW Student Abroad Insurance – $55 (billed to your MyUW account)
  • Airfare (average price subject to when and where your buy your ticket – $1,500)
  • Food (about $15/day)
  • Other health expenses/immunizations
  • Personal spending money

Financial Aid

  • A large percentage of UW students utilize financial aid to study abroad. Most types of financial aid can be applied to study abroad fees.
  • You can submit a revision request to increase the amount of aid for the quarter you are studying abroad.
  • These additional funds are usually awarded in the form of loans.

How to Submit a Revision Request

  1. To apply, fill out a revision request form,
  2. Attach the Estimated Budget – available on the program application
  3. Submit these documents to the Office of Student Financial Aid.

Scholarships

  • If you complete your application on time and you fill out the Scholarship Eligibility questionnaire in your application, you will be automatically considered for UW Study Abroad Scholarships.
  • Because the enrollment and financial for this program are tied to autumn quarter, awards will not be disbursed until just before the autumn quarter. You will be able to use the award to pay a portion of your program fee.
  • If you are receiving this scholarship, you will need to be able to pay for your airfare and additional expenses before your scholarship disburses.
