UW Ilse D. Cirtautas Central Asian Studies Fellowship

This Fellowship was established by Ilse Cirtautas, a longtime UW professor and internationally recognized leader in Central Asian studies. Professor Cirtautas was also a pioneer in creating the enduring sister city relationship between Seattle and Tashkent, Uzbekistan. The Fellowship offers $2,000 for travel to Central Asia for research or study or to attend a conference such as ASEEES (Association for Slavic, East European, and Eurasian Studies) or CESS (Central Eurasian Studies Society) to present on the region.

Eligibility

The Cirtautas Fellowship is available for undergraduate or graduate students from any UW program who are studying Central Asia. The fellowship is named for Ilse D. Cirtautas who was a pioneer in Central Asian studies.
