Job posting (requires UW NetID login) for Reader/Grader for TECHIN 512: Introduction to Sensors & Circuits:
Your specific responsibilities will be outlined by the course instructor(s) prior to the start of the quarter. Responsibilities may include some or all of the following duties:
- Attend class at the Bellevue location or on-line each week. (Tuesdays 1-4pm).
- Supervise and assist students during lab work during the second half of scheduled class time.
- Conduct office hours between 24 – 48 hours prior to homework due dates.
- Conduct drop-in lab hours during at least two additional sessions in the lab.
- Develop and test problems for exams and homework.
- Grade homework and assist the instructor, as necessary, to grade exams.
- Work with the instructor and the GIX Makerspace Director in managing the lab operations for students.
- Assist the instructor in creating and updating the Canvas web page, with associated tasks such as conducting Discussion, monitoring students’ inputs and replying to students’ queries.
- Meet weekly with the instructor (time /date to be determined) to review current issues in the class and laboratory.
- Act as a liaison between the students and the instructor.
- Coordinate, as necessary, with industry professionals and guest speakers for the course.
Qualifications:
- The applicant must be a current PhD candidate with previous teaching or TA experience
- Previous grading experience in technical areas desired.
- Major areas of study: ECE, ME, CSE, data science, HCDE, digital fabrication, design, etc.

Salary is based on Regular Salary Schedule #1 of ECE department for 50% FTE and tuition waiver (https://grad.uw.edu/wp-content/uploads/2020-21-Variable-TA-Salary-Schedule.pdf). The position is eligible for insurance.
Class will be taught as a hybrid class, any in person participation would be optional.
