Reading Groups

As part of the preparations for our guests’ visits, the HI-NORM cluster has offered reading groups on the main publications of the invited guests. This serves also as preparation for conferences and as way to involve undergraduate and graduate students to become involved in research on “Human Rights.” Several faculty involved in the HI-NORM Cluster have led these groups.

  • “Nancy Fraser” (Margaret Griesse/Michael Forman)
  • “Markus Gabriel” (Monika Kaup)
  • “Catherine Lu” (Jamie Mayerfeld)
  • “Tolerance” (Michael Rosenthal)
  •  “Human Rights” (Michael Forman, Bill Talbott, Jamie Mayerfeld)
  • “Environmental Humanities” (Sabine Wilke)
  • “Rainer Forst” (Jamie Mayerfeld/Willian Talbott)
  • “Seyla Benhabib” (Amos Nascimento)
  • “Enrique Dussel” (Amos Nascimento)
  • “Jim Tully” (Jamie Mayerfeld)
  • “Matthias Lutz-Bachmann” (Amos Nascimento)

Guest speakers have been involved in these activities and events as well, thus interacting directly with students. Students benefit directly from the work of the HI-NORM Cluster and have the opportunity to learn from the many guest lecturers and distinguished speakers who come to the UW.
