About IMAGINE

The IMAGINE pilot has now completed. THANK YOU to all our participants! Check out our findings here!

What is this study about?

The goal of this study is to develop and pilot a social media-based group counseling intervention to prevent depression in pregnant and postpartum adolescents. The intervention will be based on an evidence-based in-person curriculum called the Mothers and Babies program.

Using a user-centered design approach, we will conduct formative interviews with postpartum adolescents and healthcare providers who care for pregnant and postpartum adolescents to guide us in adapting the Mothers and Babies curriculum for a social media platform. Once the adaptation is completed, the intervention will be piloted for 3 months with 25 adolescents recruited during pregnancy from Seattle area venues. We will assess the intervention’s acceptability and impact on adolescent mental wellness by comparing with 25 adolescents not receiving the intervention.
