Email Options

Department of Medicine Exchange

The Department of Medicine IT operates a private exchange system hosted on campus to support the unique needs of our users, such as an enhanced spam filter, shared mailboxes or calendars, daily backups, and custom domain addresses. Among the domains we support are address ending with @medicine.washington.edu, @cardiology.washington.edu, @nephrology.washington.edu, @derm.washington.edu, @kri.washington.edu, @uwmedres.washington.edu, and @neurosurgery.washington.edu. Access to Department of Medicine Exchange requires an Outpost account.

Remote access to Outpost email is available via https://mail.uwmed.org.

UW Exchange – Office 365

One of the email options avaible to general campus members is Office 365, a cloud service hosted by Microsoft. Access to Office 365 uses UW NetID accounts.

Remote access to UW’s Office 365 email is available via https://outlook.office365.com/uw.edu/.

UW Medicine Service Restrictions

Please note that some email services provided by UW (ie. Google Apps and Windows Live) are not approved by UW Medicine for any medical workforce members regardless of the roles or responsibilities.
