Research Scientist |
Bethany (she/her) graduated from the University of Puget Sound with a BS in Biology. She has worked as a research scientist/technician in various molecular biology labs for over a decade. She had contributed to a number of projects including developing methods to prepare DNA for next generation sequencing, tracking the genetic lineage of pathogenic bacteria from hospital settings, designing and constructing plasmids for CRISPR based studies, and creating lentivirus for in screens in mammalian cells. Outside of the lab Bethany likes to birdwatch, teach her nephew that bugs are cool, spoil her cats Pepper and Thyme, handle her kingsnake Magpie, and attempt to keep various potted plants alive. Her favorite piece of glassware is the Erlenmeyer flask (since it can microwave liquids without boiling over). Contact Information: 📧 – bethstac@uw.edu |
