BioE PhD Student

Katherine (she/her) has a BS in Material Science and Engineering, with a focus in Biomaterials and a minor in Polymer Science from North Carolina State University in Raleigh, NC. Her current projects in the lab include electrospinning system optimization and production of fibrous scaffolds for usage in in vitro models mimicking native meniscal tissue structures. Katherine is passionate about using materials to create 3D scaffolds mimicking native tissue for use as in vitro models to examine mechanotransduction pathways.

Outside of lab, Katherine has two cats (Peaches and Sawyer) to hang out with, takes the occasional art class, and likes to try new coffee shops and restaurants.

Katherine’s favorite piece of lab glassware is a tiny Erlenmeyer flask, which seems to have no purpose.
