Kleinhans’ Lab Alumni

Nick Finley

Nick was a Research Study Assistant from 2023-2024. Originally from Vancouver, WA, he graduated from the University of Washington in 2022, and holds a BA in Psychology and a minor in Chemistry. Nick previously worked as a Registered Behavior Technician, working with children with Autism using Applied Behavioral Analysis. His ultimate goal is to attend medical school and become a physician, hopefully specializing in the treatment of special needs children.

Meghna Manoj

Meghna was a Research Study Coordinator from 2023-2024. She graduated in 2020 from the University of Washington with a BS in Biology. After graduation, she worked as a dermatology medical assistant. Meghna later pursued an MS in Biomedical Sciences from Rutgers University in New Jersey. Here, she completed research centered around improving colorectal cancer screening rates among people with diabetes in federally qualified health centers in New Jersey. Meghna hopes to pursue a career as a physician in pediatrics or family medicine.

Peyton Moe

Peyton was an Undergraduate Research Assistant and volunteer in 2024 on the CUB Study. She graduated in 2024 with a B.S. in Global-Public Health with a focus on Nutritional Sciences. Peyton is planning to pursue a graduate degree in Public Health with a focus on Epidemiology.

Claire Smith

Claire was an Undergraduate Research Assistant in 2024 on the CUB Study. She endeavors to attend graduate school in clinical psychology with a focus on neurobiological and social aspects of OCD. Prior to joining KLab in 2024, Claire received advocacy training through Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Services in Bellingham, WA and worked towards prevention by assisting in an anthropological research project at the University of Washington.

Sanuthi Ranasinghe

Sanuthi was an Undergraduate Research Assistant in 2024 on the GENDAAR Study. She is currently completing her BS in Neuroscience at the University of Washington. Following graduation, she plans on attending graduate school for Cognitive Neuroscience with a on learning and memory.

Allegra Johnson

Allegra first joined the KLab team in 2017 as an Undergraduate Research Assistant for a year, and then later returned in 2019 to complete her neuroscience honors thesis with Dr. Kleinhans. After graduating with a BS in Neuroscience and a BA in Psychology, she began her career as a Research Coordinator in the KLab and then as a Research Scientist until 2024. Allegra’s primary interests are in using MRI and fMRI methods to better understand infant brain development, in parallel with the development and implementation of methods to collect and quantify adult cannabis use in relevant and meaningful ways. She plans to pursue a graduate degree in data science in hopes to continue her work in data science and analytics.

Rachel Fung

 

Rachel was a Research Study Coordinator in the KLab from 2020 – 2023.

Kaitlyn Steckel

Kaitlyn was an Undergraduate Research Intern and then Research Assistant from 2021-2023 in the KLab.

Valentina Apostol-Maughan

Valentina was a Research Assistant from 2022 for the KLab.
