Infancy is a time of rapid brain development. Maturation of the auditory brain in particular, enables babies to enjoy music, learn language and listen to the sounds they love. In this project, we are studying how sounds like music and speech are processed in the infant brain and how this changes over the first year of life.
Participation in this study would require 1 to 3 1.5-hour visits to the UW Bloedel Hearing Research center where you and your baby would participate in either an electroencephalography (EEG) or magnetoencephalography (MEG) recording, a developmental assessment, and some parent questionnaires. You would be compensated $15/hour for your time.
We are currently recruiting:
• Infants 1 to 12 months of age with typical hearing
• Infants 1 to 12 months of age who wear hearing aids
