Mathis is a freshwater ecologist with additional expertise in GIS and eco-informatics. His M.S. research focused on biological invasions in the Columbia River basin. He recently joined our team to help us develop a global map of stormwater toxin hot spots. Additionally, he will join our efforts to examine social-ecological vulnerability within Washington’s floodplains.
Claire works in the interface of marine science and policy. She received a Masters degree from the UW School of Marine and Environmental Affairs. Her thesis explored the economic and social dimensions of shrimp aquaculture. She is currently working on Fisheries Ecosystem Planning for the US West Coast. Her goal is to improve the manner in which ecosystem information is incorporated into management.
