LUMA NSI Update

Note: Luma implementation for NSI has been separated between Neurology & Neurosurgery.

Luma Neurology went live end of May providing the ability to send patient scheduling messages, including prompts for self-scheduling.  Over the last 30 days, we’ve seen over 150 appts booked online. In total over the past 3 months, 653 messages have been exchanged. Of these, 949 messages were sent as referral status updates. This means that nearly 1000 patients have been automatically updated as to the progress of their referrals. Overall, we are seeing a nice adoption of patients to Luma.

Luma Neurosurgery has a two-part go-live scheduled: July 6 – for patient backlog, and July 12 for status and outreach messages. (Unlike Neurology, self-scheduling for Neurosurgery will be conducted as an additional phase, and rolled out a later date).

Clinic/Access check-in meetings have been scheduled for 5 clinics to share staff/pt. feedback.  The MS Center check-in occurred this morning – the clinic reports that MS Center patients are responding positively to Luma.  Check-in meetings with HMC clinics may be on the horizon.

Not yet a believer??   A team members comment: “One great message to share about Luma – so often we feel like we’re always being asked to do more. Luma is a tool that is truly offering us a means to do less! by taking on much of the messaging and correspondence that would otherwise fall to staff.”

Please be sure to inform Elizabeth Kokoszka <ekoko@uw.edu> and the Access team of any issues in functionality you are experiencing with Luma or if you have any provider changes – which is important for pt. self-scheduling.
