As the Spring quarter wraps up, and the Washington weather shifts to the beautiful summer we all know and love, it is important to take advantage of the next couple months. While not comprehensive, I felt it could be helpful to compile a short list of recommendations that could be incorporated into your summer plans. Without further ado, here are 8 things to (hopefully!) keep you entertained this summer.
SUMMER NIGHTS IN BOTHELL
What: Live music or film screenings, alternating each week, for 6 weeks.
When: Every Friday from July 11th – August 15th (6:00 – 9:00 p.m. for music, dusk for movies)
Where: Park at Bothell Landing Outdoor Amphitheater for music/North Creek Sportsfields, Field #3 for movies

WOODINVILLE CONCERT SERIES
What: Food trucks and a beer/wine garden, followed by live music
When: Every Wednesday in July, food at 5:30 p.m., music starting at 6:30 p.m.
Where: Wilmot Gateway Park in downtown Woodinville (Parking is limited, but there is a shuttle that runs 5:30 – 8:15 p.m., picking up across from Ross in parking lot on Garden Way.)

WOODINVILLE SUMMER GLOW RUN 5K
What: 5K Race in Woodinville
When: June 27th at 7:00 p.m.

JUANITA BEACH PARK
What: It’s a park on Lake Washington with a large swim area, paddleboard and kayak rentals, ice cream, and a weekly Friday farmers market.
When: Anytime it’s nice out!

WOODINVILLE FARMERS MARKET
What: A marketplace for local vendors to peddle their wares
When: Every Saturday, May – September, 10:00 a.m. – 2:00 p.m.

ZULU’S BOARD GAME CAFE
What: A board game restaurant on Main St. in Bothell with food, drinks and lots of events
When: They are open every day with varying hours

GOING ON A HIKE
What: Hiking
When: Anytime you like
Where: Hundreds of locations across Washington, all dependent on how far you are willing to travel. One of my nearby favorites is Cherry Creek Falls. It’s low in difficulty, has a pretty view at the end, and cost nothing!
Cost: Some are free, but some require parking passes. Those with pass requirements are listed on the website.

MOVIES AT THE MURAL
What: Outdoor movie screenings near the Space Needle
When: July 25th and every Friday in August at dusk. If you can only make to one screening, I suggest going on August 1st as they will be showing the greatest movie of all time. (The Princess Bride)
