Research Interests: Marine toxicology, oceans and human health, environmental health, public health.

Alicia
 Hendrix is a doctoral candidate in the UW School of Public Health’s Department of Environmental and Occupational Health Sciences. She studies toxins and toxicants in marine environments, and their impacts on wildlife and human public health. Alicia aims to understand and develop marine ecosystem and coastal communities’ resilience to emerging environmental threats through her research and her partnerships. Her current work, a collaboration with NOAA’s Northwest Fisheries Science Center, concerns the harmful algal bloom (HAB) toxins domoic acid and saxitoxin.
