Victor Lee

victorleeVictor Lee received his PhD for his work in the McCoy group in June of 2020. Originally from San Francisco, CA, he did his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Merced and was a member in the Hratchian group. Outside of lab, he enjoys hanging out with friends, doing outdoorsy things around the Seattle area such as skiing and hiking, and traveling anywhere when he gets an opportunity to do so.

Research Interests: Victor used Diffusion Monte Carlo to study the nuclear quantum effects of neutral water clusters, in particular the water hexamer. Studying these clusters can be computationally demanding, so he developed a method to drastically reduce the ensemble sizes needed to obtain reliable results.
