Pattarapon (Mickey) Moonkaen
Pattarapon (Mickey) Moonkaen (he/him) is a third year graduate student in the McCoy group. He graduated from a high school in Thailand and was granted a scholarship for study abroad in the USA. He completed his B.S. in Chemistry and Computer Science in the University of Washington, and with his interest in computational chemistry, he continued graduate research in McCoy group. Outside of academics, Mickey enjoys playing video games, board games, badminton, and some musical instruments.
Research Interests: Mickey is using Diffusion Monte Carlo to study the vibration properties of small molecules to try to understand the origin of the molecular spectrum.
