Yarra Hassan

Yarra is a second year PhD student. She grew up in Vancouver B.C. and attended University of Victoria (UVic) where she worked with Dr. Irina Paci to use calculations to better understand how helicenes interact with imperfect metal surfaces. After graduating in 2022 from UVic with a B.S. in chemistry and a minor in computer science, Yarra came UW. When Yarra isn’t staring at a computer screen and doing work, she likes to play D&D, drink copious amounts of tea, bake, and read.

Research Interests: Generating theoretical vibrational spectrum of different molecules through the use of vibrational perturbation theory and  discrete variable representation.
