McCoy Research Group

Fenris Lu

Fenris (he/him) was a former member of the McCoy Group. He got his B.S. in Chemistry with a minor in Physics at University of Washington while working in the McCoy Group as an undergrad researcher. He developed Neural Networks to facilitate quantum mechanical calculations, specifically quantum Monte Carlo simulations. Now being a grad student in the same group, he gets to continue his research in applying Machine Learning algorithms to expand the scope of Diffusion Monte Carlo (DMC). He’s in a superposition state of lifting weights, making music and being in the mountains when he’s not doing science.
